Our Founder

James Edwin Crockett (1922-2009)

James E. Crockett was born in Hagerstown, Maryland. Entering into the US Army in 1942, 1st Lieutenant Crockett earned a degree in engineering at Fort Belvoir, Virginia. He later served in France as a combat engineer.

​After the war, he graduated from the University of Maryland in 1949 with a B.A. in civil engineering. In 1961, he established Crockett Associates, P.A. a civil engineering firm in Baltimore, Maryland.

Mr. Crockett was the proud father of a loving family. He retired in 1969 and spent his time authoring a book entitled A Crockett Family Chronicle, a 300 year history of a Scotch-Irish family. He was an active member of the St. Andrews Society of Baltimore, the Robert Burns Society of Annapolis and the Sons of the American Revolution.

Before his passing in 2009, Mr. Crockett established the James E. Crockett Educational and Charitable Trust, A non-profit organization dedicated to fostering perpetual good will between the United States and Scotland.
